Step 1: Enter the Conservatory

Step 2: Choosing the Perfect Cutting

We selected a Monstera Aurea cutting rooted in water. Its healthy, white, sprawling roots are ready for potting. Rooting in water helps prepare plants for transfer to soil without stress.

Step 3: Introducing the Professional Support

Each kit includes three prefilled segments and two bases. Unlike traditional moss poles, Beyond Beleaf’s Professional Supports come prefilled with coco chips. This renewable material mimics tree bark, the natural habitat for climbing plants, and holds water efficiently. Plus, coco chips are antifungal and won’t dry out roots like moss can.

Step 4: Assembling the Support

We start by attaching a base to the bottom of the support. This modular design allows you to propagate top cuttings later and repot them using the included second base. As your plant grows you can simply screw on additional segments.

Step 5: Securing the Support

For proper stability place the base of the first segment firmly at the bottom of your pot. Additionally but not required, we use zip ties to secure the base to a clear pot. Although optional, this step provides extra support while roots develop. As the roots grow, they create "organic stability," naturally anchoring the support.

Step 6: Positioning the Cutting

Next, we placed the Monstera Aurea cutting in the pot alongside the support. Proper positioning is essential for healthy growth, with the roots placed just above the bottom of the pot.

Step 7: Securing the Plant

Our kits include soft black plant Velcro, which gently secures the plant to the support without damaging the stem. This ensures the plant grows upright and attaches firmly to the support.

Step 8: Adding Soil

Finally, we added a light soil mix made from recycled newspaper, perlite, coco chips, charcoal, and worm castings. This nutrient-rich blend complements the coco chips in the support, fostering robust root development.
