Should I start with a moss pole kit or an extension?
Start with a modular moss pole kit. You get 3 segments (about 12 inches each), 3 bases, and the hardware to stack them. A moss pole extension is for later, when that pole is already rooted and the plant wants another 12 inches.
What plants are modular moss poles for?
Monstera, philodendron, pothos, and other climbing plants that send out aerial roots. If it leans toward the light and wants to climb, this is the support.
How does the moss pole stay in the pot?
The bottom segment goes down into the pot. As the plant grows, aerial roots find the diamond openings and lock that piece in. It gets steadier over time, not looser.
How do I add a moss pole extension later?
Screw a matching segment onto the coupler. The rooted pole stays put. You are not pulling a taller pole down through the leaves, and you are not starting the roots over.
How do cuttings work with a modular moss pole?
When a segment has roots and a growing tip you want to keep, unscrew the coupler and pot that piece on the extra base. The main plant keeps the pole it already claimed.
What comes in the moss pole kit?
3 segments, about 12 inches each, so you start around 3 feet. A base comes with every segment. Couplers screw them together, and a crown up top guides the next leaf.
How tall can a modular moss pole get?
With matching moss pole extensions, about 8 feet, depending on the plant and the pot. Add a segment when the plant earns it. You do not have to buy the whole height on day one.
What is the crown and the coupler?
The coupler is the screw that joins one segment to the next. The crown sits at the very top and gives new growth a place to lean while the pole stays stable.
Which moss pole size should I pick?
XS is 1.5 inch, for cuttings and compact pots. S is 2 inch, for younger climbers. M is 2.5 inch, the everyday size for most monstera, pothos, and philodendron. L is 3 inch, for bigger pots and plants that mean it. Moss pole extensions currently match S, M, and L.
How does watering work?
The diamond openings lean inward, so water goes into the pole instead of sheeting down the outside of the pot. When you see water move from the top segment into the next one, that segment has had enough.
Are these modular moss poles 3D printed?
Yes. They are precision-printed for a humid plant room, with a flat back toward the plant and an open lattice where aerial roots can grab. They are meant to stay, not to be a temporary stake.
My plant is already stuck on an old moss pole. Now what?
If roots are glued into the old one, this will not move them for you. Use the kit on the next pot-up, a fresh plant, or a cutting. Once this is the pole they root into, you do not have to swap it out to go taller.
